Laptop: Midnight M2 MacBook Air 16 GB / 500 GB #

I use this laptop as my primary computer. I have fancy desktop with an Intel i9-9900KF and 2070 Super, but I no longer use that - just the MacBook with a CalDigit TS3 Plus dock. This means I never have to deal with keeping two machines in sync with each other, and it means I basically get a second monitor (my laptop screen) when I use it at my desk.

Keyboard: Keychron Q1 with red linear switches. #

Super fun to type on! Iā€™m interested in trying out some low profile keyboards though. I find I get my best typing speeds on my MacBookā€™s built in keyboard.

Mouse: Logitech MX Master 3S #

I would write a long rant about this mouse if I had the time. It works fine, but somehow this mouse, that MacOS enthusiasts swear by, is absolutely unusable until you install two third party Mac apps. After that, itā€™s a decent mouse (albeit a bit heavy) but I enjoy the build quality and scroll wheels

Monitor: Dell Gaming S2421HGF #

It works, itā€™s nothing special.

Smartphone: iPhone 15 Pro #

It works, itā€™s nothing special.

Tablet: iPad Air (5th generation) w/ Apple Pencil 2nd Generation #

It works, itā€™s nothing special.

Headphones: AirPods Pro 2 (USB-C), Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro #

The AirPods are expensive but excellent, the Beyerdynamics are great, but I find myself only ever using the AirPods because they are so convenient and seamlessly pair with my iPhone too (and of course, theyā€™re wireless)

Calculator: NumWorks N0120 #

The best calculator (for highschool maths) ever. It does everything my TI-84 could do, just better. It also doesnā€™t do anything too fancy, so itā€™s accepted on standardized tests. I own two TI-84s, and bought a TI-Nspire CX II-T CAS before but returned it for the NumWorks. This calculator is intuitive, and it doesnā€™t pretend to be any more than a quick pocket tool, so the interface is fast and lean.

Text editors: (Neo)vim, VSCode, Obsidian #

Great text editors that I use depending on the task. Iā€™m finding myself in Vim (a customized LazyVim install) more often these days

Web browser: Heavily customized Firefox #

See my blog post

Terminal emulator: iTerm2 #

Just iTerm2, but I wish I could just use Terminal.app. Maybe Ghostty will be interesting when it comes out.
